Has anyone ever had a cherry tomato pasta sauce?

I'm not asking for recipes just yet, so no googling for me please, unless it's one you've tried. I just repotted my cherry tomatoes yesterday, and I'm looking to have 20 of them. That's probably gonna spell a lot of tomatoes. :D

Before repotting.

After repotting.

There's gonna be another repotting.

The brand of planter I'm using is ITML, comes from Canada, and it's a #5 plastic, same as yogurt cups. I collect these and place them in the Preserve receptacle at my local Whole Foods. I'll probably use them for the cacti I'm growing before then, though.

I've always considered that cherry toms made for better salsa than tomato sauce, simply because they've got a fairly high water to flesh ratio, which makes them not so ideal for saucing.

This said, I expect that if you're willing to reduce the living snot out of the sauce, it would work not too badly, provided that the cherries you're growing are relatively higher in acid and lower in sugar. The sweeter they are, the weirder the sauce will taste.

I've made some. First batch came out Sweeter than I like but my kids loved it _ amybe akin to commercial sauces with added sweetener. For myself, I added some balsamic vinegar in the second batch.

Lorax is right about the excess juice. I 1/2 and cut out the hard stem part then cook them no water, skin and all until skins are ready to slip. Then first just strain them (no pressure) to separate/save the juice. Then I put the pulp, etc in foodmill to remove skin and larger seeds.

Well, this is the kit that I grew them from, and they're not too descriptive on what kind of cherry tomatoes these are.

I'm not growing the beefsteak tomatoes. I do have a momotaro tomato plant, which I've never had before, but look forward to trying.
