Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Combine
2 cups of crushed pretzels
1/4 cup of sugar
3/4 cup of butter

Press on bottom of 9x12 greased baking dish. Bake 8 min at 400 degrees, cool (if not when you put filling on it will melt it and not turn out right).

Filling
Cream together
1 8oz cream cheese (softened)
1 cup of sugar
Fold in 8oz of cool whip, spread on pretzel base, chill (I usually chill for about 1/2 hour)

Topping
2-6oz packages of strawberry jello dissolve in 1 1/2 cups of boiling water add 1 1/2 cups of cold water mix in 2 - 10 oz frozen strawberries spread over filling and chill.

Note - If filling isn't chilled completely and you put topping on it will not set right.

Something about pretzels and strawberries does not seem right to me but I'll try it and let you know.

I just use regular twist type pretzels, not sourdough. I know it sounds kind of a strange combination, but it is SO good! Let me know how you like it.
