Prune for Small Space Fruit Trees

I have been reading about this book. I have been wanting to plant some dwarf fruit trees and this looks like a great way to create small fruit trees.

another option to consider is espaliaring the trees. There are also a few ultra dwarf trees that a suitable to plant in half whiskey barrels.

I recognize that word 'espaliaring', but I don't know how to do it. I will look it up. Ultra dwarf in a whiskey barrel sounds like fun. I need to do some research before I decide which way to go. Thank you for your input.

espaliaring - I looked it up. I've seen pictures of that before. It looks fantastic. I will have to look into it.

It makes a fun project. :D

I have two sweet cherries, an apple, two pears, and a persimmon tree that are trained in informal espalier styles along the fence to the front yard (not bordering neighbors), and have posted photos at various times. (They will probably turn up if you search the forum for "Espalier Fence Row)

I used to have two apple espaliers but lost one. :(
