Using wicks

I have been waiting for roots to extend so I can replant them in my lateral tube section. I saw a video where a short piece of thick string can be used as a wick to absorb water and would moisten the rockwool medium. This allows me to transfer the plants without having to wait for roots to extend long enough to reach the water nutrient mixture. I did this yesterday and it is working. It's all learning for me!
