It is fine to eat. You used a fertilizer for plants, however if the fertilzer contains boron, don't feed it to ruminants. They should not have nightshades either.

I don't grow tomatoes in hydro (just herbs and greens), but I have read that ideally you should have three different solutions for them - the initial growth, then flowering/fruit setting, then for the growth and ripening of the fruit. This is probably done in commercial systems, with determinate varieties, since indeterminates will continue flowering, and have tomatoes of all different stages of growth. Maybe there's an in between NPK level for those? I have also seen much more complex listings of various micronutrients, that are changed to help with flavor and the collor of the tomatoes.

I guess this is why I only do the herbs and greens!

Your tomato plant is looking very spindly and stretched, like it isn't getting nearly enough light. Along with any nutrient issues, lack of enough direct sun will definitely affect production.

Here's what a tomato plant in a container should look like:

Why did you grow them if you don't want to eat them? They should be fine to eat if you are using a quality nutrient. I run Master Blend in my grows, and eat the hell out of them! You don't have anywhere near enough light to grow and produce tomatoes. They require minimum 6 plus hours of full sun to yield well.

He said looking around... Ship all those hydroponically grown tomatoes to me and I will safely dispose of them. My field grown are not ripe yet and I am grown impatient.

On a more serious note, they will be fine.
