Ph Control

Hi ... I live in Central America in heat and humidity and I have a new hydroponic garden. I'm going thru a lot of Ph Down even with Ph balanced ice cubes and frozen bottles.

Can I use regular liquid Ph down from a swimming pool supply store? Will it harm my plants? Any other options that are easily available in Central America? No hydroponic stores around.

Thanx in advance for your help!

Hi,
Your soil need's to be at a pH of 6.5 and using something from the swimming pool store will raise the pH higher than that, this will mean that the pH of the soil/plant will be to hight and not all of the nutrients will be available for the plant. If your soil is to acidic then consider using any liming agent so this could be anything containing lime as will raise the pH. Just be cautions what you use.
Hope this helps,
Andy
