It has been awhile since I have been to forum, and it is nice to see the continued interest in hydroponic gardening. When you practice hydroponic growing you don't have to use simply liquid to grow. Pretty much anything can be grown hydroponically using inert media like coir and perlite, adding whatever nutrients you choose to use. The tropical flower below is an East Indian Rosebay, or Tabernaemontana divaricata if you would like to get technical. It is being grown hydroponically, along with olives, gardenias and jasmine, under total LED lighting. Growing indoors hydroponically eliminates all of the problems associated with growing with soil. Just thought I would pass that on.

I believe that the cost of LED Grow Lights are a bit more, but:
They Last Longer
They Use Much Less Power
They Hardly Give Off Any Heat
Also, you can target the frequency of light that the plants actually use.
Folks use them all the time for indoor winter gardens.
