Seperate cycle for each macro nutrient

Hi,

I was thinking of using a flood and drain system , with separate cycle for each macro nutrient , rather then mixing them. I believe it will allow for finer control over nutrients and their quantities.

Has anybody tried this before ?

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Shay

If I understand correctly, you would use two separate reservoirs holding different nutes? Fascinating. Are you trying to extend the life or create a unique balance.

Look forward to seeing the responses. 8)

Yes, that is exactly the idea.

If possible I would even use 3-4 nutrient reservoirs

The main goals are
-to have finer understanding and control over how plants use nutrients including which ones, how much , at what times , etc...
- reduce work and waste by avoiding the need to flush the whole system every 2 weeks.
- Ability to efficiently mix different types of plants using the same tray.

Unfortunately, it seems that there is very little info on the subject. But,, I have all the parts that I need and I getting ready to launch an experiment.

Maybe I should start a blog or a wiki detailing the results.

A blog is always a great way to not only share what you have learned, but it also (in my case) makes for a great learning tool for historical records as the "journal" aspect is very valuable.

Pics always add to the value as well!

Please keep us posted.
