Britta Riley: A garden in my apartment

I just stumbled on this tonight. Is anyone here participating in this project and/or implementing these techniques already? I'm totally intrigued!
This is good stuff and what prompted me to grow indoors throughout winter to supplement our diets. Not only is it healthier, but it does save money.
My big concern was costs overriding the end result. I did not want a $30 head of lettuce no matter how organic or nutritious it may be.
Sustainability for economics sake let alone decreasing dependability.
Thanks Applestar...good link.

I also came across this site this winter while looking for a window system to grow herbs and some spinach. It it very interesting and got me thinking. I will be constructing a verticle window garden for my spinach that is like the strawberry towers. Only I will be using 4" pipe and only 1 or 2 feet long instead of 5 feet long. I will post picts when I get them completed and I when I can find a site to upload my photos to.
