Redwood Bonsai (Sequoiadendron giganteum)

Hello Everyone,

Below is my first Bonsai! It is a giant redwood that I grew from seed, it's now one year old and growing quickly (8 inches tall, 10 inches wide at widest point).

I originally was going to plant this outside but it would likely die. It has been growing in a large point with normal soil and was just transplanted into the pot in the picture with "bonsai soil".

I would love suggestions on good online stores for bonsai tools/supplies (there are now gardening stores with good selections close to me). Also any suggestion are always welcome!

Trees are naturally outdoor plants, they need the outdoors to be healthy. So at a certain point you may have to bring your tree outdoors.

Non-evergreen trees also need to go dormant in the winter and shed their leaves. I think as you research redwoods to learn what they need that you'll also learn a lot about tree biology.
