I am a first time bonsai grower. I have been growing a Jack pine indoors which has just sprouted.
I have also noticed a white fungus/mould growing on the soil surface.
I am now aware this is because I have been over-watering and my soil is too damp.
What I want to know is what do I do now?
Will the fungus/mould harm my sprout and what lengths will I have to take to save it?
Thanks for the prompt reply, I was gifted one of those 'grow your own bonsai' sets which gave instructions on keeping the plant as an indoor tree. Seems however that pines are not particularly good for that. I'm hoping my little seed will do better outside now.
I'm just worried it won't handle the weather. It's August but we're already getting a lot of rain and near 0 temperatures at night.
