repotting Green island Ficus bonasai help please

I'm a new bonsai grower. I have purchased a 12.5 cm Green Island Ficus bonsai. I'm assuming it will require repotting. What size of pot should I be looking for and what's the best soil. I've been reading about the red lava soil...Also could you recommend a fertilizer. Thanks

On the USAin side I use granite chicken scratch. its cheaper and is utterly insouble, mix half-n-half with sifted crushed pine bark mulch (some times called soil conditioner here).

Any soluble fertilizer will work if dilute enough. Also see Osmocoat time release pellets.

Organic cakes, some time afectionately called "poo-poo balls" are IMO too atractive to vermin, and they live down to their name.
