I bought myself my first ever bonsai tree and have no idea what kind of tree it is, so I can't accomodate to its specific needs.
can anyone please help me in identifying my tree???

From your pictures it is a little difficult to say with any certainty but it may be a Fukien Tea. Some aspects lead me this possibilty such as the 5 pointed white flowers and the notches that seem to be present in your photos. Have a look at this picture and see if you agree.

Your plant seems to have serrations on the leaf margins while the sample photos does not. As I don't own this species I find myself unsure about this one.

I'm pretty sure that is a Fukien Tea. I have one on my porch, and I just looked at it, and I am certain that is what you have. You can grow them indoors, but keep it near a south facing window. Mine is on a north facing outdoor porch, and it has no complaints. Mine has withstood overnight low temps in the low 40's without complaint, but they like warm weather. Mine will start growing in May or June, and it flowers without fail every August.
