A clumsy accident might have killed my seressas.

I was carrying the drip tray with both serissas to the kitchen sink for watering. Clumsy me tripped over my own feet. Dirt, gravel, me, and the poor plants all over the floor. The serissas were now out of their pots and I needed to put them back in, but the soil they were in I knoticed tiny little bugs Aphids I am guessing. So new soil is in order here, I poted one up in a nice mostly organic well draining Bonsai mix, the other I put in pure long fiber sphagnum moss. Might as well see what happens.

Either way these serissas are going to be as angry as cat getting a bath. Only a matter of time before they start throwing their leaves at me.

Dang...and just when you said you half expected them to keel over! :!:
(in response to that other thread where a few folks mentioned the finicky nature of these guys, lol)

But in all seriousness, I'm sorry about this mishap, and I hope they don't start 'throwing leaves' at you!

I have also heard a few not so encouraging thing regarding the serissas. I have been doing a fair bit of reading up on various things to grow when I read this “The grower soon discovers that the Serissa drops its leaves if it has too much water. Too little water. If it's too hot or too cold. If it's moved, or there is a shift in lighting or temperature.â€

Serissas a little over a week since the accident.

There has been a few yellowing leaves that I have been taking off. Nothing serious so far, I had to trim back the new growth again it was getting out of control. I dident trim back as far as I normally do, still waiting to see what happens.

Anyone know how long it usually takes serissas to drop their leaves if the tree is unhappy?

Here is the picture taken today.

I think maby serissas are tougher than I thought. We will see next week how they are doing. :)

Well here it is over 2 weeks now. I got something really exciting to show you :) I got a flower on my serissa! This is the serissa I planted in sphagnum moss about 2 weeks ago, I was checking if the tree needed water today. This is my serissa japonica( tree of a thousand stars )

I only got one star so far but I think it is a sign that the tree is happy.

I saw this bud and decided to re-pot my other serissa in sphagnum moss.
I took pictures to show how it is done. Here is the link.
