help one side dead ficus

Hi
I have had a figus for 3,4 years no problems with it but over the last 5 or 6 weeks one side of the tree has died all the leaves fell very quickly and the branches on that side are totally dead .the other side of the tree is better but the leaves over the last week have started to droop. I have not changed anything feeding and watering are the same also no change in lighting. It was repotted last year and it did ok .may repot again tomorrow anyone had this happen before? I'm starting to thinking it may have been tampered with.

Thanks

If you don't see anything topside and your sure the environment it's in has not changed, then I would check the roots.

This could be a sign of root rot. What type of ficus is it? Ginseng ficus are very prone to root rot diseases. If I were you, I would take cuttings of any branches that have leafs on them. This will ensure if the bonsai does die, it would not have been a total loss.
