Squash question

Lately we have had a huge amount of rain, after an almost drought period. During that time I used my well water.
I am now seeing something brown and fuzzy on my yellow squash blooms after they start withering. Everything else looks good.
Is this a start of a fungus?
My zucchini, have not developed any female flowers yet but I am still hoping.
Any info appreciated. :?

I think it's pretty normal to see fungal growth on blooms that are beginning to decay, especially under wet conditions. The blooms are pretty delicate organic growth; after a day or two of blooming, they wither quickly and begin breaking down. With a lot of moisture present, normal fungal growth can be expected on decaying plant matter. Toss any blooms with fungal growth out of the squashes growing area.

It must be true :( I moved my squash garden, far from last years because of a recurrent powdery mildew problem. I started seeing it on my plants this year again this past week end. It just must be where I live.
Oh well, I'll just keep growing and be happy for the crops I get.
I really never have found a successful preventive or treatment and believe me I have tried.
