First jar of pickles!
I finally canned a quart jar of pickles.I used a lot of dill in it so it will be extra dilly. Since we had a hailstorm a few weeks ago,the early blossoms fell off and we lost several small cukes coming in,there will be probably be a smaller harvest this year because of the hail.Oh well,at least this jar will have several different sizes so people can eat what they like.

Jenny,I wouldn't be surprised if I was growing mosquitoes somewhere too because of all the rain we get.It seems one cuke leads to another, good thing you're getting some, hopefully more will come.
I've never tried refrigerator pickles, but I'm sure they're just as good.Hendi_Alex,I've never grown Straight 8's but I actually think my variety is the most bitter oen on the list from your other board (although I should recheck the seed package),mine don't seem bitter yet,but they usually do towards the end of growing season. One cuke plant is also drying up,but as long as there's several others flowering,I should be good.
