Help with zucchini

My zucchini plants are producing squash and the plant looks healthy. My problem is that when the squash gets around 4-5 inches long, the end starts to rot or dry up and the squash dies. Any suggestions, comments, help? Thanks

I'd start at the bottom of the page regarding pollination.. if you don't have bees, your plant isn't getting pollinated, and zucchini is very picky about it. You'll probably luck out, and some other bug will accidentally pollinate a blossom every now and then, and you'll get a good fruit off it, but 90% of the blossoms will have the same symptoms you're describing.

Admin, could you maybe start up a zucchini how-to thread with the express purpose of making it sticky? Or maybe put up a good article on zucchini with the rest of the articles so we can link to that instead? Seems like this question comes up a lot.
