Summer squash dying?

I have had good luck with my yellow squash so far this year but the production has slowed and the plants are now turning yellow. Is this a natural cycle? If I decide to cut them under what would be a good crop to follow up with in the same location?

How old are the plants? Squash leaves will turn yellow for a number of reasons. For me, the culprit is often vine borers. If you look at the base of the plant you'll see a little mound of sawdust. The little devils cut a hole in the base of the plant and wiggle their way up until the plant dies. Are the plants getting enough water? Are they wilting (could be a sign of bacterial wilt)?

The plants are 3 months old. I sprayed the yesterday with Sevin spray. If it 's bugs do you think that will kill them?
