problem with growing lettuce in containers before transplant
seedlings now have long stems with small leaves(double)-showing
no signs of further development after 3-4 weeks since I sowed the seeds.
they are presently inside a room-I'm preparing to put them outside
so that they can get more light.
so far this year I've not been successful using this method of growing
lettuce.
any help in this matter would be appreciated,

thanks for your reply to my question concerning the seedlings.
No! I haven't been using any kind of artificial lighting.
I just recently took them outside.
Last year I used the same procedure with excellent results.
With one difference: I was using the Burpee seeds-the seeds
didn't germinate with long stems and most of them survived -
much more hardy, I think.
Thanks again,
Rich
