Seeds being eaten

Since there is no "Pest" forum, I'm stickin this here :P
I spent the day digging out what seeds were left and re-planting about 30 flats of zucchini, butternunt and yellow squash. Something got into my hoop house and had a nice dinner on me. At first I was thinking mice... but the dirt was not dug out. So I'm thinking a bird? Some of the seeds were still in the dirt, but had been eaten. Any ideas?)

Just a guess here, but I think birds tend to gobble the whole seed usually, unless it were a very small bird. If there are still pieces of seeds left behind, that sounds like something with teeth? Dunno. Either way - sorry about the extra work. It's annoying, I know.

I had crows doing it to me. Pull the small seedling out or just dug out the seed. Now I had some one suggest getting some toy rubber snakes and putting them in the garden. Going to give it a try to see if it helps.
