Has anyone grown cranberry beans?

After seeing these on the TV cooking show I want some. Large white beans with red places in beans grow in red pods. 65 day crop. I have never seen these in any store, dry or in cans. Soft puree beans have a cream flavor like cheese.

I ordered 50 seeds. We will see how good they are.

I don’t grow them, but I sometimes buy them canned. Borlotti Beans. They are very good. I just happen to have a jar of them in my pantry. Seems like a very good choice for the garden.

huh. I’ve gotten seed for ‘vermont cranberry’ beans from johnny’s seed (15+ years ago now), but I guess that’s a very different bean. these were a medium-sized all-red dry bean.

The color is lost from cooking.
The beans and pods are speckled, not solid red, but speckled with tan and some red. I think that there is more than one kind. Pink Borlotti Beans or Pink Cranberry Beans are pretty with lots of the red color.
