Spaghetti Squash Harvesting question

I planted 2 Spaghetti squash plants in April. Both set fruit. (one has 4 the other 3) all are very large. The are all looking like they are ready to be harvested. They are all golden yellow and the stem is starting to harden.

Here is what is confusing me. Everything I read says that the entire vine should start to whither and Die when its time to harvest. But they aren't. Both Vines are actually still very green and setting new Fruit.

Do Spaghetti Squash produce multiple time a growing season? Or are the new fruit that are about the size of a softball going to die before they are mature?

Thank you

Harvest them. Let the plants do what they will.

...so they pass the thumbnail test?

I haven't grown them but I believe they make several fruits per plant -- maybe 4 or 5. I have heard that they can also be harvested immature, before the seeds develop, and eaten like summer squash. I've done this with other winter squash, too.

Thanks for the reply's.

Yep they passed the thumbnail test.

I harvest the 6 that looked ready. 1 still looks a bit pale.

The vines have set 6 additional fruits and all are growing just fine. So I may end up with 13 squash from just 2 vines :D :D
