What to do when there's a frost

Just throw a tarp over my plants?
A friend suggested putting buckets of water out by the garden. Has anyone experience with this?

Are you in the Southern Hemisphere or are you still expecting frost in the North? What kind of vegetables are you trying to protect in your garden?

Don't know what is your situation, but when I had threats of very late frosts this year, I had to protect tomatoes and potatoes. I threw flannel sheets and blankets over the potato bed, and I placed 5 gallon plastic buckets upside down over the tomatoes. It all worked well.

Get a roll of 6 mil poly sheeting to cover the plants up. Ya, an empty bucket upside down to cover the plants is excellent too. (If you have enough buckets)
