Which varieties are you growing? I like Medusa as a variety of and I'm a huge fan of a lot of varieties of Heirloom tomatoes. The Black varieties of tomatoes are very flavourful.

How do you go about growing your peppers and tomatoes? Do you start from seed or start from a plant from a nursery. If you start with seeds, what do you use as a soil for your seeds?

It would be great to hear what you do because you look like someone with some experience.

This is my first garden here in the new house so we are pretty excited about it. We just bought it last June so we didn't have time to get a garden in last year. We just had 10 yards of garden soil dumped two weeks ago and I am bringing in composted horse manure/saw dust by the bucket full to further enrich the soil.

Vegetables:
1. Winter Squash, Butternut
2. Winter Squash, Acorn
3. Summer Squash/Zucchini, Butterstick
4. Cucumber, Bush Champion
5. Cucumber, Lemon
6. Cantaloupe, Sweet n’ Early Hybrid
7. Carrot, Sugarsnax
8. Pepper, Gold Standard Hybrid
9. Pepper, Carnival Rainbow Blend
10. Pepper, Ornamental Tangerine Dream
11. Tomato, Sweet Tangerine
12. Tomato, Sandwich Slicer
13. Tomato, Yellow Pear
14. Tomato, Black Krim
15. Bean, Tenderpick
16. Bean, Blue Lake
17. Bean, Mellow Yellow
18. Bean, Royal Burgundy
19. Pea, Super Sugar Snap
20. Pea, Super Snappy
21. Pea, Oregon Sugar Pod II

>>>What do you guys think?

I'm jealous! Looks like a lot of fun.

>>>My plan is to run the cucumbers and squash up the fence so they don't spread out all over the place.

I'm not a squash expert, but having seen squash growing on a friends backyard farm, do you think there's enough room for the squash roots to spread out?

Good question.
I have grown cucumbers in 1-2 gallon pots before so I know they should be ok in a fairly confined space as long as they have a place to stretch their limbs.
As for the squash I would think they have enough space but to be honest I don't know exactly how much volume the roots need to happily spread out.

Got any suggestions on where I could look that up?

Hmmm, I haven't heard of smooth Crooknecked Sqash, just the rough variety. Very interesting, looks like you'll have a great veggie garden this year Pixel photo.

A little tip, look up companion planting on the web and use these planting schemes in your garden.
