Never underestimate the power of the heat tape

lol. I started a bunch of seeds Sunday mid afternoon. I had the flat covered and sitting on heat tape (11" flex-watt heat tape on a proportional thermostat). My thermometer read the temps in the flat to be around 87 degrees F. By Wednesday night, I had a good handful of seedlings already poking through...barely 72 hours! By Thursday a.m., many more were up. What a difference a little supplemental heat can make! I was actually able to put them outside in the sun yesterday and they're back out today...crazy weather, as always...

Heat makes a huge difference when starting your own plants, we use 48" X 20" heat mats, they work great and we have seeds sprout in a few days.
