Is there a way to resolve overcrowding in a vegetable barrel? I planted entirely too many squash and cucumber seedling in a 24-ish gallon half barrel, and now everything is turning yellow, despite good water and great fertilisation.
I've put so much into the project that I hate to lose them. Is it possible to potentially make cuttings with the plants and move them? This evening I attempted to aid the issue by adding a HUGE amount of soil to completely fill the barrel to the top.
So concerned.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm, crowding should not be causing your plants to yellow. I suspect it is a soil issue of some sort. Too much fertilizer
will cause plants to just die. A little is good, too much is deadly.
What about sunlight? You did not say if the barrel was where it gets full sun? Garden plants do best if they get a good dose of sun each day. Place the barrel where it will get sunshine for most of the day if you can.
A barrel that size would be just right for 3 zucchini plants.
