compost or garden mix?

I would like to better my soil in my in ground 237sqft 3rd year vegetable garden. I'm looking to purchase either organic compost for $37 a yard or garden mix which consists of top soil, organic compost, mushroom compost, manure, and sand for $46 a yard.

Which is a better buy.

If you have good soil that drains well, the compost is all you really need. If you have room, start your own compost pile and save more.

This is a link to a compost calculator to determine how much you might need.

I don't know what part of the country you are in or what condition your soil is, but a cubic yard of compost is 27 cu ft, which will cover an area of 324 square feet spread at a depth of 1 inch. If you got 2 cubic yards, you'd be able to add nearly 3 inches of compost to your entire garden.
