Before digging under my peas...

I thought perhaps I should ask...

My peas are almost at the end of their growing life, so I'm thinking I'll dig them into the garden when they finish. However... they have little black bugs underneath the leaves - not ALL the leaves, but they are on every few in very small to dime-sized clusters. Should I avoid digging the peas back into the garden if they have these bugs - will it potentially create a bigger problem?

Thanks!

I think a good rule of thumb is when doubtful, any plants that show signs of an infestation goes into the compost pile when finished, rather than dug into the soil. The bugs might be harmless, but then again, you might be encouraging next years problems by leaving them in the garden.

Thanks Roger - that's what my intuition was telling me too, but I thought I'd check anyhow... you just never know!
