I thought they were bush beans??

I bought Cherokee Wax Bean Seeds at Lowe's and I read the package which told me they were a bush variety. I planted them and after about 2 weeks they started sending up a tall branch which wrapped around the nearby tomato cage. Why is it doing this?

I can get a picture if one is needed.

Hmmmm, I would not panic just yet. Give it some time. Those type beans are supposed to be bush. Of course there is always a chance something was mis-labeled, or a stray bean got in the packet.

Sometimes they the packages are mislabeled. I ordered yellow brandywine tomato seeds one year and then I got a letter from Burpee saying that they didn't know what seeds were sent, but it wasn't yellow brandywine and they sent the correct seeds and a gift certificate.
Happy gardening in Hawaii. Gardens are where people grow.

Also, the seeds are black like black bean seeds. But of course, a little bit bigger.

I always plant bush beans but out of 3 rows of beans there is always 1 or 2 plants that think they are pole beans. LOL. I think a few pole bean seeds accidently got into the bush bean package.

You probably got a mislabeled pack of beans.
