Problem: Patty pan squash, very healthy, many male flowers, but it's August 6- ZERO squash so far! Very disappointing, never had this happen. Much bee activity (mostly bumble bees) here, even in the sunflowers directly behind the squash plants. What could be the solution at this late in the growing season?

Interesting. It is not unusual to get many male blossoms first. The females come along later and not nearly so many. About all you can do is give it some time and see if you get some female flowers.

I know you didn't ask, but it looks like you have some powdery mildew on those leaves, too. You might want to start spraying them with milk spray or a baking soda solution if you haven't already.

For many of us, it was a long spring, slow to warm up. Things got planted late and then summer has been cool, rainy and short on sunshine. So your squash may just be behind where they would normally be at this time of year. Likely it will soon start putting out female blossoms. All you can do is be patient.
