Question about pole beans (watering and sun)
Here is a pic of my beans. I planted some late in the year hoping I can get them in in time. They were planted July 21st. I can't recall the variety off hand so sorry about that. Anyway, I have noticed that the leaves tend to curl up nearly every day. It has been pretty mild here lately. about 60 at night and 80 during the day time. Do beans require daily watering? or is the sun cooking the leaves? Here is a pic I took today. One with the leaves curled at 5:00pm (I watered them then) and the second about 1 1/2 hours later. The temps recorded in the pic should be reversed.

Soil is fairly loose and a bit sandy so well draining. I did plant them pretty densely. So perhaps I will water them daily if it does not rain. I just didn't want to overwater them. But seeing as how they recovered quickly, I also thought that lack of water was the issue. Thanks!jal_ut wrote:I am thinking they are telling you they need water.
"Do beans require daily watering?"
Depends on the soil and how densely they are planted. Perhaps so in this case.
