Bugs eating up my green beans - holes in leaves

I have tons of holes in my green bean leaves and no idea what to do.
I have never been able to see a bug on them until this morning I saw a ladybug looking bug that was yellow I think. Is this a bean beetle?
What can I do to keep them out before my plants are destroyed.?

Sounds like you have Mexican bean beetle. It is a ladybug relative. The good news is that they are active only for a couple of months of the year, the bad news is that they can be very destructive while they are around.

Sevin is nasty stuff and illegal in Europe. U.S. is behind.

I put neem on them last evening. I don't want to use anything that will harm other bugs and my dogs follow me out to the garden sometimes and I don't trust sevin around them.
I have used it on my knockout rosebushes however. Beetles did a number on them.

Unfortunately whatever you use, it will also harm the beneficial ladybugs and other beneficials too. It may be too late this time, but since you know it is a problem, maybe consider netting the plants to exclude them.
