Novice - question abour pole beans

I bought "garden bean" seeds, thinking they were bush beans. I planted three of em on a rectangular container. One of the vines broke but not completely in two. I have been meaning to pull it out and plant another bean it its place, but ir seems like it is still growing, although I haven't measured it yet. Is that possible? Should I leave it in there? Tape the broken spot? Sounds dumb probably but I am totally new at this

Not dumb at all, and yes, you can tape it and it should grow just fine. Be gentle with it and don't tape it too tight. It'll need some support as well, but plants are amazing at healing from injuries like that.
