Arizona coop extension says, AZ soil has not food value for plants fertilize often.
I need to attach the garden hose to some type of fertilizer tank then attach the soaker hose to the same tank. I need to put a small amount of fertilizer in the tank every day then water the garden for about 2 minutes.
I looked online and ebay I can not find such a device. Anyone know of a device that will connect between 2 hoses that has a screw off cap or bottle to put fertilizer into?

there's another type that takes solid fertilizer blocks - it's basically house hose in one end, soaker hose out other end. the water flow dissolves the fertilizer block.

I think what your talking about is a siphon feeder. You would mix up a concentrated solution of water soluble fertilizer in a pail or 5 gallon bucket. Only mix as much as you can use. You would attach the siphon mixer after the anti-siphon valve on the water faucet. The tubing is attached to the side of the siphon and the other end with the spring goes in the bucket. You would then connect it to your drip system or water from your hose as usual.
This used to be very common for orchid growers. The thing is to make sure there is no dirt or anything in the the bucket that can clog the siphon. The system should be rinsed by placing the siphon hose in a bucket of clean water and and flush it out. The syphon should be removed from the faucet immediately.
This type of system has gone out of fashion, because if you use it without an
anti-siphon valve or you leave it connected to the faucet there is a danger of contaminating your house water supply.
Drip systems do have filters that fertilizers can be added to.
Instead of going this route, it is easier to attach a dial a flow or miracle grow feeder to your hose and water the fertilizer in that way. You do not have to feed your plants more than once a week (weakly weekly formula) or once every two weeks.
You can use the miracle grow feeder or syphon feeder with manure or compost tea. But you need to strain the tea a couple of times to make sure there is no sediment or debris and put additional filters : panty hose, tobacco bags, fine cloth around the fill tubes or it will clog and ruin the feeders. The safest way to deliver manure and compost tea is with an old fashioned watering can.
