Is it safe to grow where a poisonous plant grew previous?

Hi,

I made another thread awhile back about removing Oleander. I have a little bed now where the Oleander used to be. Now I am beginning to wonder if it is safe to grow here or not. Over the years some leaves have fallen by the plant and decomposed. Plus there may be some remnants of the roots still in the soil.

It will be safe to plant veggies there.

The toxins are organic and break down as the plant breaks down. When we had the discussion of composting your oleander, what I suggested was that the finished compost would be fine, the problems would be in getting there, toxic dust if you shredded it to help it break down or uncomposted leaves around if not.

Yes, safe to plant where it was.

That's a great relief. I had planned the bed for some Turmeric which arrives in the next few days. Thanks
