Has anyone grown okra in a hoophouse?

[quote="Marlingardener"]If you do so, get a dwarf variety. Our okra gets between 6' and 8' tall. Clemson Spineless gets only about 3' tall, and has the added advantage of being comfortable to pick. The heirloom and old-fashioned types have stiff hairs that can cause a rash on some pickers (who don't wear gloves and long sleeves!).[/quote

Seriously, your Clemson Spineless stays around 3 ft. tall??? That is the variety I grow each year and it hits 6-8 feet regularly. You can top it to promote branching, but I prefer to just let it go.
