The county crew just dumped this pile of wood chips in the driveway. I'm hoping they drop two more. I did give them a large bag of garlic.

I have their catalog. I would like, one day, to try king stropharia "Garden Giant". This pile of chips has some cedar. I'm thinking not good for mushrooms.applestar wrote:Have you looked into garden mushrooms at Fungi Perfecti? These fresh wood chips would make great substrate.
Most of this load will be applied to the garden paths and orchard berms. I'll leave the swales to grass for duck forage.

Did I already mention that I like free stuff.
I put in about 12Hrs worth of paid landscaping. We lifted about 50 berry plants and moved them up closer to their house. The owner's will be build a berry enclosure. Full covered with bird netting. Roughly 30ft x 40ft.
Came home with Gooseberries, Currants, Black Cap Raspberries, Jostaberry and a small wild plum / cherry.
Oh yeah, two more loads of wood chips
