Hi,
From what I have read Wasabi is pretty hard to grow. It grows best in a semi-aquatic condition with flowing water and in shade. But I have read from a few sources it can be grown in soil but will not be at the same quality of the semi-aquatic grown. It also takes some time like 2-3 years for you to get a sizable rhizome to harvest. I was thinking of giving it a shot but growing it as a house plant. I may not even get a rhizome or much of one to eat but I think it is a unique plant to try and grow.

I am not very familiar with the plant but these people sell fresh rhizomes to eat https://www.realwasabi.com/
I also had come across them on raintreenursery as well. And I think I recall seeing some on ebay too. So if I get a fresh rhizome like the kind to eat I can start a plant from that? I guess that makes sense. Since these plants grow best semi aquatic with moving water it would be cool to try and grow some in a fish pond that has a waterfall or filter that has water flowing by. Or in an aquaponic set up. But they would have to be shaded.
