Cushaw Pumpkin

Have any of you grown the Cushaw? It is Cucurbita argyrosperma.

I am wondering especially if anyone as far North as Chicago has grown it with any success? It may be a Southern plant.

I have grown it....last year. I'm quite a bit south and east of you, but it did well here. It seems to take a long time to set flowers, and therefore fruit. But it was worth the wait.

Thanks. It may not be well adapted to my short cool season.

Well if you want some seeds to give it a try let me know. I can send a handful and you can give it a go without spending any $$ on it.
