Fall Planting Done

I cleared out part of the garden. I have hot cherry peppers still growing (got 4 large mason jars my first year). I took down the sunflowers, the heads are hanging to dry out. The stems were 2" thick at the base and took a sawzall to cut.

I raked out the weeds, lightly tilled the soil then added in fresh top soil and some manure. Raked it out, made the mounds and planted.

I am attempting to see what happens. I live in SW Connecticut and put in bush beans, mixed lettuce, romaine, broccoli rabe, and spinach. I have no idea if all of it will grow but we shall see.

Very nice! I am definitely behind on fall planting. It gets hard this time of year. I am busy canning, drying herbs, and keeping everything going, always seems hard to get the fall planting done on time.

I know what you mean. It's been crazy around here with family stuff, work, etc. Everything is in high gear. Had a great cool day yesterday to get it done once I finished the usual lawn work and re-organized the garage.
