Transporting Containers

I had decent luck with some tomatoes and veggies in containers this year. The pots that worked the best are these green tubs

My plan next year is to switch the containers so that tomatoes are not in the same one two years in a row. But that will call for changing the location of some. Also, I have some tomato plants to put in some that I will want to bring into the greenhouse for winter.

Does anyone have a good suggestion for easily transporting these heavy tubs?

Thanks. My wife does have a nice red wagon, but I am not sure I could talk her into (1) using the wagon or (2) helping me lift the pots.

The nursery ball cart looks like the ticket (but high ticket item). I have a decent hand truck. Perhaps I can build a rig to mimic the "ball" effect.

What about one of these? (you need a helper though)
https://www.amazon.com/PotLifter-200-Pound-Gardening-Heavy-Lifting/dp/B002ECFFJ8

I did come across this as well when I was looking:
https://www.instructables.com/id/Pot-LifterHauler-Quick-Easy-Cheap/

Not necessarily to carry all the way but for lifting up onto the wagon, etc.

The last one was caught by our system as "Adult" What exactly does it mean by "Quick-Easy-Cheap"?

A two wheel dolly or hand truck, could easily move those. No need to pick them up. Just get the lip of the truck under the pot, tie it with a rope, then tilt the truck handle and lead it away.

I have an idea, and want to bouce it off everyone:

The windows on one end of my greenhouse have to be replaced because a heavy shelf fell and crashed through them this summer. I have thought about redoing that wall to make a section that, when opened, would be about the size of a pallet with containers on it. I would build a "landing" area inside the greenhouse.

The plan would be to have the containers outside on pallets, when they need to go inside for the winter, or even just for a night, I would open the section, get my tractor and place the pallet and containers in the greenhouse.

What do you think?

Marlingardener wrote:Sounds like a plan, but I have a couple of questions. Will the pallet stay flat, or will picking it up with the tractor cause a slight tilt? Will the containers stay put on the pallet, or will they shift? If they shift, will they bang into each other causing damage? Can you afford the space for the landing area for the pallet to be used only occasionally?
Okay, that's four questions  . I'm suffering from greenhouse envy and I really don't mean to rain on your parade.
Good questions all. As long as the operator takes care the pots would stay well on the pallet, also could be tied on.

As far as space, my two main objectives with the greenhouse are (1) starter plants and (2) get a jump on growing seaason by putting some tomatoes in pots that be moved in and out easily. So using space for that would be a benefit.

For now the greenhouse is full of Sawtooth Oak and Persimmon seedlings that I started last winter and have nursed along to some good looking plants. I wanted to put them outside during spring and summer but the chipmunks and squirrels got the acorns and destroyed the plants.
