Can Asparagus Be Planted in the Fall?

Can I plant Asparagus in fall. Just gettin antsy. I have some asparagus that I planted 3 summers ago in a planter and need to transfer them.
I can wait till spring if need be.

you'll want to wait until the fronds have died back completely - and then add about a month or so.

the "crowns" should be fully dormant before moving them.

Fully agree. Be very careful moving them. A lot of tiny roots are going to be lost. Just try to minimize it.

Ummm, you say in a planter. Can the planter be moved? If so just dig a hole where you want the plants to be and move the planter over there and dump it. Cover the roots up in their new location and enjoy!
