First, the bumps. A few of the potatoes I literally just dug up have these large bumps on them. What are they? Boy, I hope it's safe to eat, cuz I just did!

Now for the holes. I dug this one up, and there was a small worm curled up in one of these holes on one end of the potato! Ew! But, it doesn't look like the holes go all the way through - do you think it's safe to cut this end off and eat the rest?
In this pic, I tried to get the worm out with my shovel...kinda mashed up the potato.

Here is the other side of the potato. I rinsed off the potato, but there is still dirt in the holes.

I guess they don't sell knobby and bumpy ones at the supermarket? Cuz I've never seen it before. I was hoping someone would reassure me it was normal! I guess they just use "pretty" ones at the supermarket. I've never grown potatoes before, so I have absolutely no clue what I'm doing right or wrong. Or what's diseased or not.
The worm was like a small, skinny, like inch or so long dark blackish, pinkish color, slimy looking. I don't know, it all happened so fast, when I saw it, I yelped and started hitting it with my digging tool trying to get it out.
Yes, I hate bugs. If you guys only knew how petrified I was of bugs, especially spiders, you would be so proud of me heading into my jungle of a garden every day.
