Melons must like clay!

We did a community garden in some clay soil, and the cucumbers and squash aren't doin great. the tomatoes are 'eh', not fabulous but they have tomatoes! but the melon plants are full of melons!!!!! even the pumpkins aren't doing anything at all!

there is sakatas sweet and banana melon and I think I put minnesota midget too. plenty of melons on each plant, very exciting!

Cool I did Minnesota Midget as well this year and got 6 melons between 2 vines. I already harvested 2 and ate them. Pretty good. I also planted a single vine in another location that has a lot of sun but mostly clay soil. I did add compost a few times and fertilize occasionally. It has 1 melon on it now. I think that is all it is gonna get. But I also trimmed some of the vine cause it was growing into my walkway.
