Are my Pumpkins Developing Normally?

So I have three types of pumpkins taking over my garden ;) I do have a question about my pumpkin development.

I want to know if my white pumpkins is developing normally. I have pictures below and compared them to my regular Gladiator Pumpkins.

here is the largest white pumpkin it is the size of a softball.

This is the female the flowered and fertilized first but has slow-en development. it is the size of a fastball

This is one of my Gladiator pumpkins it is on the ground and not the trellis. it is about the size of a mini football. this little guy flowered three days ago unlike the white ones that started earlier.

Yes, your pumpkins look fine.
There are three different species that have varieties called pumpkins.
Each type has a little different look to the newly developing fruit.

Looks like you have some Cucurbita maxima and some Cucurbita pepo there.

Have fun!

I have another questions about my pumpkin development.

I noticed some of the leafs are dying. I know to some extent this is normal but there is a lot more. I did notice the soil/compost pile around the plant was shrinking. I put some nice topsoil in the cracks on the side and on top and re-watered.

this is the area I first noticed

this is further down the vine

Are they getting enough water? Pumpkins are large plants and need lots of water. I don't know if it is a disease. There are many diseases and the dreaded squash bug (vine borers) that give cucurbits a hard time. I don't see many of those here due to our dry climate and hard winters.

Do some of the leaves look to have white spots or a powdery look to them? Then later turn to what is yellowed and browning. If so perhaps Powdery Mildew? If the leaves have that look try some of this stuff

It doesn't appear to be bacterial wilt which affects the interveinal parts and leaves the veins looking green.

I am sure others will comment. Keep an eye on it.

I have been feeding them regularly. I now make sure that it gets enough water. I cleared out the zucchini to make sure they are able to get enough sun.

I have many large orange pumpkins and now I have two larger white pumpkins. They started to do well once I hung them with stretchy socks. now I need to figure out how to carry on supporting them vertically when they are too large for the socks.

thank you!!!

the experiment continues!
