pH soil testing question

I got my test kit, I'm supposed to add water to the soil and the capsule. how does that predict anything? peoples water pH is so vastly different, wouldn't that effect the soils test results?

especially my water, which is 5.2 pH!

am I supposed to buy bottled water with a neutral pH?

Yeah, in your case that's probably what you need to do. Shouldn't be a big deal, one bottle of water should last for a lot of tests. I think they assume water is neutral, because most people's is.

Your water is as acidic as black coffee!

I'm surprised you don't keep bottled water to cook with. I would think water that acid would affect the taste of everything you cook.

ROFL! that is SO funny when you say it that way!

but a lot of people have hard water too. people don't' take this into account, they probably get skewed results.

usually the instructions specify "distilled water"
