Spider Webs?

I've noticed that spiders like to build webs on my tomato cages, and around my containers on the deck. I've been knocking them down but then wondered, should I be leaving them alone? Wll spiders eat the other bugs that try to come near and munch on my veggies?

I'm not sure if they're cause for worry or not, but I've been letting them build webs and hang out around my tomatoes, potatoes and Brussels sprouts and, in addition to looking cool, I leave them in hopes that they'll eat some of the nasties!

I always let them be since they eat bugs. But, as I write this I'm thinking to myself that maybe they eat the beneficial insects too.
