BAD TOMATO QUESTION

when do u water a tomato plant

When it needs it.

Sorry but that is the only general answer that can be given, because it depends so much on conditions - is it in a pot or in the ground, what is the soil like, is it mulched, what is the weather like re heat, humidity, rain, wind, etc.

But dig down 2-3 inches near the plant. If it is dry that far down, water.
Water deeply/ thoroughly and then don't water again until it dries out again.

you said bad tomato question, is that a bad question about a tomato or a question about a bad tomato (because I didn't get the bad tomato part).

I water mine in the evening when the sun goes down. I also hoe up a little circle of dirt around the plant to hold the water.

You didn't ask how to water tomatoes, but you want to water the soil, not the plant, and do it so soil is not splashed up on the leaves. That can transmit soil borne diseases like blight to the plant.
