Mulch and pumpkin Fertilizer What Kinds Do I Need?

oh my I am having one heck of a time keeping my garden watered. So the question I have right now is what do I need for mulch to keep the water down. I really don't have much fiber material in my soil I put some coco fiber in this spring.... but not enough

sooooooo Mulch what should I look for???? do I need to worry about Ph of Soil and Mulch?

I also need pumpkin Fertilizer what do I need?

re mulch - anything organic, shredded paper, fall leaves if you still have any, grass clippings, pulled weeds, or buy a bale of straw and spread it around.
